I'm Jack

I am a current master's student at DePaul University, studying Human Computer Interaction. I previously graduated in 2024 from UC Davis with my B.S. in Cognitive Science.

I have always been passionate about art and creative processes — whether it's music, drawing, or designing. I've also had a life long curiosity about our minds and the underlying processes that allow us to have human experiences.

As my undergraduate education came to a close, I was deeply satisfied with what I had learned. From how our brain works while making tough decisions, or building computational models of neural pathways, I was thrilled to have a deeper understanding of what makes us so unique as humans.

However, I was also terrified. How would I turn something that was a passion and deep source of excitement into a career? That's when I discovered the field of HCI, and how designers are able to bridge the gap between technology and humans by creating products that are shaped around our experiences, behaviors, and mental processes.
